U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) continues to accept H-1B nonimmigrant petitions that are subject to the fiscal year FY2013 cap. As of May 4, 2012, USCIS has received approximately 35,500 H-1B petitions that count toward the 65,000 Cap, and approximately 13,700 petitions toward the 20,000 cap exemption for individuals with advanced (Master’s) degrees. This means that there are only 24,500 regular cap-subject H-1Bs available as of this writing. There are also 6,300 H-1Bs available for those with U.S. Master’s degrees. At current rates the regular H1B Cap is expected to last until (at least) end of July 2012.
