Obama will officially announce his executive action on immigration during a televised speech Thursday, Nov. 20.

In a video he published on Facebook Wednesday, President Obama said, “Everybody agrees that our immigration system is broken. Unfortunately, Washington allowed the problem to fester for far too long.”

The order is expected to protect approximately 5 million illegal immigrants residing in the U.S. This address will be followed by an event on Friday where officials will discuss details involving the deferred deportation for parents of U.S citizens along with other issues regarding undocumented workers. There has also been some speculation that the executive order will affect foreign tech workers employed in the United States, however nothing has been confirmed at this point.

We will be closely monitoring the changes in the coming days and keep you posted on any new developments! Tune in to watch his address from the White House at 8 p.m. EST.
